1/2 Cut Nori

Half-cut nori is a sheet divided into two. One-sixth-cut nori is divided into six smaller pieces. Exact millimetre sizes depend on the original sheet and must be confirmed.
The difference is portion size. 1/2 cut nori is larger and often used for hand rolls or smaller wraps. 1/6 cut nori is smaller and often used for onigiri. Both names describe cutting ratios, not different seaweed species.
A half of one commercial sheet is not the same as a half of another sheet if the parent sizes differ. Buyers should provide the full-sheet reference or a cutting drawing.
Thickness, grade, and roasting are independent of the cut. Two products can share a 1/6 cut and still differ in eating quality.
Temaki nori may use a half cut. Onigiri nori may use a one-sixth cut. Keep application names and cut names both in the RFQ so the factory does not guess.
