Sushi Nori

Sushi nori is usually a full roasted sheet for rolling sushi. Onigiri nori is nori cut or packed for rice balls. Buyers should specify application and cut instead of treating the names as interchangeable.
Sushi nori is roasted nori in sheet form for sushi rolls. Onigiri nori is nori prepared for wrapping or serving Japanese rice balls, often as strips or smaller cuts. The seaweed type can be the same family of nori, but the commercial SKU is defined by size, packing, and use.
Sushi buyers typically start from a full sheet, then discuss grade, roasting, color, texture, and sheets per pack. The sheet must handle rolling without tearing in the intended process.
If the same nori will later be cut, the buyer should still quote sushi nori as the parent sheet and list cutting as a separate requirement.
Onigiri programs depend on wrapping method. Some factories use one-sixth-cut pieces. Some use other strip sizes. Some need individually film-wrapped strips so the nori stays dry until the consumer applies it.
Because of that, onigiri nori should be quoted from a cutting drawing and packing structure, not from the word onigiri alone.
State the dish, cut size, whether the nori is unseasoned, pack count, and destination market. If you need both sushi sheets and onigiri cuts, list them as separate line items.
